Dara was initially drawn to product management because of how collaborative the work is. Her ability to successfully communicate with lots of personality types earned her the nickname “the diplomat”, which is a testament to her ability to listen to diverse perspectives and work towards effective compromises.

Competitive Analysis

  • Effectively communicated Dara’s thoughts process and approach product positioning and the overall market. Main outcome, got the job :).

Katabatic Collection

  • Briefed and launched new “Fast Trail” collection, including 8 styles across men’s and women’s categories.

  • Grew “Fast Trail” category by 150%.

Women’s Lifestyle

  • Lead and executed special project analyzing Oboz women’s lifestyle business.

  • Collaborated with key departments to build and implement new Women’s Lifestyle footwear strategy, which emphasized new approaches to silhouettes and color.

  • Oboz x Skida collaboration

  • Created and launched collaboration that helped Oboz meet business and product objectives.

  • Project objectives:

    Help Outdoor Research (OR) assess & improve their women’s product & brand strategy to increase % that women’s sales contributes to total sales.

    Dive deep to understand the root ‘why’ behind women consumer preferences & behaviors.

  • Deliverables included:

    General overview & assessment of the women’s market, based on industry analysis & consumer insights from the outdoor space & beyond

    Recommended product assortment to grow women’s market share (product type, price points, color palette, design inspiration, competitors)

    Examined how to market to her: what is the campaign / the big story? How do we get her attention? Where does she shop for & buy product?

  • Presented findings to senior leadership team at OR

    Gave strategy recommendations considering the long term & immediate actionable items

OUTDOOR RESEARCH - Graduate Industry Capstone Project

Stewardship Workshop

  • Built and hosted a workshop to educate Stio employees on best practices and strategies for reducing negative impacts on human health in the environment — primarily through material choices in product. *Please note that these example slides are not comprehensive of the whole presentation. They do provide a solid idea of the general content and communication style.

  • Participants left the workshop understanding where the biggest opportunities were for Stio to reduce its impacts. Additionally, they gained tools on how to start to communicate about sustainability.
